cs /Soft Interfaces, 2025

Our studio developed the knitted fabrics for Soft Interface, a research project by WINT Design Lab and Fraunhofer IZM. It features an interactive lamp with a textile screen that responds to the gentlest touch. By stretching the fabric, the cross-section of the liquid metal pathways changes. A subtle shift that the system reads to adjust light temperature or intensity. The team created an haptic knit pattern to mark interactive zones and varying textures to enhance tactile feedback. The color and yarn were chosen to complement warm and cool light tones, creating a responsive and immersive experience.
